Fun Baby Shower Games

Baby showers are fun! Food, cute baby stuff, spending time with friends, and gifts for the new baby. Of course, you can't invite all your friends over and expect them to just sit there. And why should you? There are all kinds of fun games that can be played at baby showers that are guaranteed to liven up the shower and make it memorable for everyone. The first thing you need to keep in mind when deciding on which games to play is the people you have invited. Is this a baby shower with all the young friends of the mom-to-be or is it a baby shower being held at the church with all the church ladies and grannies planning to attend? Not that the church ladies are party poopers, but some groups require a little more dignity than others. What your 20-year-old friends find appropriate, your grandmother probably won't. With that said, here are some fun baby shower games: Blindfold Feeding Game This works especially well if the shower is going to be co-ed - men are always funnier doing this. Put a plastic tablecloth on the floor and two "wipeable" chairs on the plastic facing each other. Choose two of your guests who are good sports. Have your guests sit in the chairs facing each other, just close enough for their knees to touch. Put a bib on one guest and have her hold her hands behind her chair. Put a blindfold on the other guest. Give the guest a spoon and bowl that has softened ice cream in it. The object is to have the blindfolded guest feed the other guest. This game usually turns out quite comical! Toilet Paper Game This game is quick and simple. You take one roll of toilet paper and each guest pulls off the amount of toilet paper that they think would be long enough to go around the expectant mother's belly. The guests can't actually measure the mom-to-be - just guess. Diaper the Baby Game This game also involves toilet paper but this time, you divide the guests up into groups of four or five. Have each group choose one member of their guests to be "it" - not telling them what "it" has to do. After they have chosen their "it" tell them that "it" is the baby and the rest of the group has two minutes to use the toilet paper to diaper the baby as best as they possibly can. Baby Food Tasting Game This game can be played two ways. First, get 12 jars of baby food and cover the labels on them. For the first variation of the game, you blindfold several guests and give them a taste of each baby food. The guest that gets the most right - wins. For the second variation of the food tasting game, don't blindfold the guest but just pass the food around and let everyone examine the food, tasting it if they want. There are many fun baby shower games. Try to fit the game to the theme of your baby shower if possible, remember the ages and personalities of your guests, and what type of baby shower the mom-to-be would like to have. After that, it's time for the fun to begin. You surely can find some more fun baby shower games from the net. Javier Hernandez
