Cabinet Refacing for Your Home
By Jonathan Pitts | Decor Design | Unrated

To change the look of the kitchen involves changing the flooring, painting the walls, adding new appliances and maybe even changing the cabinets. There is an alternative to installing new cabinets that will create the same new appearance without the cost. Reface the current cabinets to save money on the improvement project.

Refacing the cabinets is less expensive as well as limits the mess. To use the technique simplifies the task to offer a completely new look for the cabinets that are generally still in good condition just not presenting the appearance the homeowner is wanting in the kitchen. Why install new cabinets when the older ones work for all of the functions you need? Save the money by refacing the cabinets to get the classy appearance for a fraction of the cost.

The only steps required to reface the cabinets is remove the doors, and fronts versus removing the entire cabinet areas and possibly needing to replace the flooring from damages from the removal of the old cabinets. The outside of the cabinets will be the areas that are removed and refaced leaving the rest of the cabinets and kitchen in a usable state.

While the cabinet fronts are being refaced, you will still access to the kitchen without the inconvenience of not having the cabinets, sink, and countertops. This provides a better option of using the kitchen during the process without having to find other methods of eating, washing dishes, and the general daily living that would be interrupted by replacing all of the old cabinets.

Cabinet refacing is also less expensive compared to total cabinet replacement. To add to the new surfaces of the cabinets, add new hardware for a higher level of appearance. The costs saved when refacing will allow you to make other expensive changes in the kitchen or other areas of the home.

The faces of the cabinets can be paneled, stained to a new color, or even have glass inserts to the doors providing a new attractive appearance for the kitchen. The act of refacing the cabinet will provide you with many options to the different changes you may have in mind for the kitchen.

Select a company to do the project for you. Inquire about the different changes they will make for the cabinet faces so you can make exactly the changes you are seeking. Most companies have plenty of experience and will have different ideas to help you make the right selection for the cabinet fronts.

Cabinet refacing is a simple manner to change the kitchen without the large expense and mess of installing new cabinets. The appearances of the refaced cabinets are durable and long lasting adding to the appeal for many homeowners.
