Living According to You
By Jason Ladock | Goal Setting | Rating:

Do you often find yourself wondering what you are going to do? Sometimes we come to realize that what we are actually doing in life is living our life to please others. Where this may sound shocking, more times to none it is true. Do you want to find out what it means to live your life according to you? You must first identify the ties, which you have with others that make you want to please them. This is your first step in forming independence while creating a life that you want, not what other people want.

One of the most common reasons you are tied into pleasing others is that obviously no one within your past truly attended to your needs as a child. You received no honor as the individual you were or perhaps are. You were not recognized as having your own purpose. A result of this is that you have learned to look outside yourself for those approving nods or merely approval overall. You also look for support from others as compared to having the confidence you handle things yourself. This can be very emotionally tiring. When you are not making the decisions that must be made according to your instinct, you are literally stressing yourself out. To always be yearning for the approval of others can take its toil on anyone. You must take control of your own life while working on accepting the decisions you make while being confident about them.

Do understand that the part of you, which was not adequately nurtured as a child, is still deep inside of you. You have not received the proper care or attention to allow your inner self to grow. With this in mind, please understand that it is never too late to award yourself what is truly needed to aid you in becoming the person you have always wanted to be.

Many ways are available for you to find your own awareness. You can create a journal documenting your experiences in life. This will enable you to re-evaluate later what you possibly did wrong while working on improving your decision skills. You can join support groups. These groups do allow the feeling of knowing you are not alone in your quest to find your inner being. Holistic healing processes are another good approach if you are comfortable with such an approach.

No matter the process you choose in life, do understand that it is quite possible for you to feel worse before you feel better. Sometimes self-improvement entails facing harsh realities that are sometimes hard to handle. Following these steps will enable you to eventually live your life according to you as compared to other people.
