Dilemma in Online Dating

Online dating may include many problems and hindrances. This service can be fake many a time and may end you up in trouble. The following are the problems people face while online dating:

1. Sites like eHarmony do not allow its users to search or crosscheck the profiles they will get to see.

2. Poor reputed sites may hoard the user’s personal information for their email spam.

3. Unifying with the online dating industry many newspapers and magazines publish their advertisements with other names.

4. Most of these dating sites keep the users profile for a very long time even if the user has not logged in for a very long time. This they do to increase the number of their users and to show bulk.

5. Some profiles do not represent the actual dater but a false profile is made to attract the paying members.

6. Online predators find such sites extremely engaging because such information makes their work easy for an internet fraud.

7. Many complaints have been registered for the billing criteria of such sites. They charge the member even if he has cancelled his registration within the trial period.

8. On any given site the sex ratio is very much imbalanced.

9. Some sites require their members to specify their gender this creates a problem for the homosexuals.

10. Many members misrepresent themselves there by its not easy to trust the profiles easily.

11. Many sites want their members to inform the site about their meeting or exchange of messages off that site.

12. Paying users are very unclear about the billing requirements. They are unaware if they have to pay one time or again and again.

13. In online dating we can never get a perfect idea of the other person’s nature or what he/she is like.

14. Con artists, sexual predators can also pose a very nice attractive profile. So beware.

15. If you have posted your pictures on any of such sites then there is always a danger of you being exploited or your photograph being misused.

16. A research proved that many sites keep your deleted photos for a long time. So it’s better not to post them on any of such sites.

17. Cases are observed that on a blind date the person that seemed nice in the profile actually turned out to be a sexual predator.
