The internet is a wondrous thing, a font of all knowledge, a forum for the free expression of our thoughts, an endless supply of porn and also, a great way to make a bit of money without putting in too much effort. We all struggle with money, but sadly very few people realise the potential money they could be making with no effort from using the internet. An incredibly profitable resource is literally at your fingertips, or waiting in the corner of your living room just waiting to be utilised…

There are a myriad of ways you can make money online, from engaging in the many quick money making schemes as an on-the-side endeavour, to setting up your own dotcom business and becoming a full-time entrepreneur.

If you’re looking to make a quick buck then online betting might be the option for you. There are many websites detailing the ins and outs, but essentially it involves using the initial free bonus money you get for signing up to a gambling site and then using this to make a bet. Meanwhile you make the same process on another site but make the exact opposite bet (so maybe you bet Man United to win on one site and to lose on another). This way, whatever the outcome you can make a profit. Fortunately there are reams of online betting websites so you can do this repeatedly and quickly earn a few hundred pounds or dollars before it dries up.

Alternatively there are many sites that allow you to review products or fill out surveys in exchange for cash. These are generally very low income, but over time and at minimum effort, they’re still worthwhile.

Another quick source of income is ‘affiliate marketing’, here you get a commission on selling someone else’s product via a link that identifies you as the seller. You can do this in a variety of ways – through a website for example or simply by advertising through sites such as Facebook or Myspace.

If you want to make an actual career online however there are several more options. Working as a freelance writer is one particularly rewarding method if you’re a fast typist and enjoy journalism. The amount of websites out there in need of writers means that the market is unlikely to dry up too.

The big money though will come from owning your own site or online business. If you’re proficient in HTML and CSS (and possible PHP if you’re looking to make a lot) then you can set up your own website and show ads on it that will earn you revenue every time someone clicks on them; if you then exchange links and practice good search engine optimisation (making your site ‘search engine friendly’), then your profit from a site like this can grow to hundreds of dollars or pounds a day if you’re successful. To quote Money for nothing, and maybe your chicks for free too who knows?
