Purchasing the Right Clothing for Your Body Shape
By Jason Ladock | Style | Unrated

When you are looking for the best clothes, you will want to keep several things in mind. When you are out shopping you should already have a good idea of what looks good on you as far as colors. If you don't know this, then make sure that you bring someone else shopping with you and try on the items before you buy them, bring someone that you can trust to tell you the truth. You want to make sure that you don't buy colors that wash you out and make you look real pale, or colors that make you look greenish or pink. Learning what colors look good on you is the first step in knowing what outfits to buy, it's also the easiest step.

The next step will be to know your body shape, this can be a little more confusing and you need a real honest friend, or a digital camera for this one. There are certain rules that you will want to start with, but the rest will be trial and error on your part. You will want to make sure that you know that the clothing is right for your body shape before purchasing it; many women have a closet full of nothing that looks good on them because they bought without trying the outfit on, or they didn't bring a friend or camera with them.

You will want to make sure that you purchase clothing that will be flattering to your body and go with your body's shape. Some things to take into consideration when you are purchasing clothing is that you want to go with your body's natural shape. If you have short legs the you won't want to wear pants that flare at the bottom, these will make your legs appear even shorter. If you are a person with broad shoulders then you should stay away from blouses that require shoulder pads. If you feel that your legs are too long, stay away from pants that go in at the lower part of your legs, these will really add length to your legs.

When you are out looking for the right clothing, you want to remember that it doesn't matter how much you like something, it doesn't mean that it will look good on you. You want to make sure that you don't purchase anything on impulse that doesn't fit you well. It will only sit in your closet looking good, if it didn't fit well in the store then it won't fit well at home. Save your money for clothing that looks good on you.
