Although, due to extreme strain that pregnancy is on the women's body, it's considered that it's a blessing, and a lot of women agree with that statement. Having a child is also the best way to keep a part of you behind when you leave this world. Child bears a lot of responsibilities and a proper preparation is necessary for the sake of you and your little angel.
After learning that you are pregnant first thing what you should do is inform yourself about what is expecting you. Best way to do this is if you visit a physician or a midwife. If you don't have one, you should pick one that you feel most comfortable with and one that is the most reliable, cause you wouldn't want to go in labor and then find out that your OB/GYN is out of town on some party.
When initial tests are finished and your doctor has told you your situation, depending on what he said you can start preparing yourself. If everything is OK, and there are no complications with the pregnancy you can start what every other women with normal pregnancy does. In the beginning a feeling of anxiety can appear cause having a baby implies a lot of giving up, and it is necessary to incorporate some new tasks in to your everyday routine.
For starters, it's not smart to smoke, do drugs, drink alcohol cause using any of these things can seriously damage your baby. It is well known fact that use of alcohol during pregnancy causes serious illness (Fetal alcohol syndrome - FAS) and vulnerabilities later on in child's life. Even worse situation can happen when it comes to use of other, more serious narcotics. If it's absolutely necessary to use a certain medicine it is always best to consult with your physician. Another thing that a women should be taking care of is the weight, cause being to thin and or to large can produce complications during the delivery. A talking to with a nutritionist would be very wise, to learn tips on how to eat healthy for your baby. Stimulation of the baby while it's still in the womb is not a bad idea, cause tests have shown that reading to a child or playing music can help in brain development, and who knows maybe your kid will become the next Einstein. Taking prenatal vitamins is also very good thing to do, to ensure good physically development of the baby and to keep your energy up.
Worrying about your body is not the only thing that is necessary, also your home and your car needs to be checked by professionals. So that they can make sure that there are no dangerous things like no isolation on wires and sockets, unprotected poisonous chemicals laying around and so on in the house. Basically you need to baby proof your home, there are services around that are offering this try to ask around in town. If you have small car you need to buy a bigger one, with more space for a child seat.
If you do everything on the long lists of things to do when expecting a child, and you still don't feel like you didn't do enough don't worry, that is normal. Every parent has that feeling, and that only shows that you are good parents.
