Making Baby Food: How to Make Good Baby Food?

Food for your child should be made in home. Packed and frozen food is always doubted. If you wish to give your child 100% trusted and nutritious food then feed your child with home made food. In home made food there no preservatives or colors and thus are safe and healthy. If you prepare your baby’s food at home itself then it saves money as well. Home made food gives you complete assurance that your child’s diet is healthy and complete. In case the home made food is not enough for your child then you can always add some more nutritious things in the diet. This allows you to feel safe and satisfied about your child’s health.

Some very basic and important things are required to give your due attention.

1. Always wash your hands and utensils before making food for your child. Small babies are quite prone to digestive problems and infections. That is why you should clean everything you will keep food in.

2. It is advisable not to boil the vegetables and fruits that you will be giving to your baby. It is recommended to always steam them. This process shields more nutrients as compared to boiling and cooking. When you steam a fruit it becomes very soft therefore a baby can easily digest it.

3. It is advised to give your baby solid food which is thoroughly grinded. This makes digestion easier for a baby.

4. It is recommended to prepare food for your baby before he starts demanding for it. You should freeze it as soon as you prepare it. This practice does not allow any germs to enter and protects the food.

5. It is recommended to feed your child with cereals as they are rich in iron.

6. Fruits and vegetables are given at a later stage of child’s growth.

7. Bananas can be given to your child but they should be mashed.

8. Other fruits and vegetables are boiled or steamed before serving them to your child.

9. Instead of feeding your child with normal fruits and vegetables it is advised to serve them organic fruits. Fruits prepared naturally are richer in nutrients content. They offer more nutrients to the body hence are healthier for your child.

10. Sauce based on apples and pear is also a good option for your baby.

11. For a baby yoghurt and cheese is also healthy. Mashed potatoes can also be served to your child.

12. Chicken and meat are served to a child in his later stage.

13. It is not advised to serve food that is solid at a early age. It should be kept when he gets his teeth.

14. Milk should never be eradicated from a child’s diet. It is the major source of vitamins. Milk based food products should also be served to your child.

15. If you are serving your child market or packaged food then you should consider its nutritional content. It should be healthy for your child.

A new born baby should be given only his mother’s milk. Mother’s milk is the source of some very essential and rare nutrients that are essential for a child’s immunity system.
