If your wedding is just few days away then you must be trying to discover your options for wedding cakes because it feels incomplete not to have a wedding cake on such an occasion. So, you must have that simple white tree wedding cake coming up in your mind like mostly people order. But don’t you think that you should consider something different and make your cake stand out from all the others since these occasions do not come again and again.

How about going a little bit different then the traditional ones and choosing some other nice flavored cake instead of the usual white pound cake covered in icing. When you talk about cakes, you can see endless flavors and variety. You can go with a chocolate mixed strawberry cake or how about putting a layer of rum cake plus a layer of carrot cake. Adding some nuts along with raspberry filling would just make your wedding cake taste unforgettable.

It’s not necessary that you must always go with the traditional white colored cake. Instead you can add a couple of more colors, or may be you can get it off-white instead of the usual white so the tradition remains along with a difference. For instance, if not the white tree tiered cake, you can make your cake look like a nice big heart displaying your and your spouse name.

It is not a problem even if you want your wedding cake to be traditional but different at the same time. You can use some sparkling crystals on monogram toppers. There are also toppers available, which glow, play music, and spin around too. Beautiful cake toppers can be easily available at departmental stores, just use them if you want to add some zest to your cake design.

Having cupcakes is not a bad idea at all depending upon your mood. If you don’t really want to go with a regular wedding cake, just choose from the same icings and flavors, which are used for traditional wedding cakes. Dressing them up and giving them out to the guests as favors would not be a bad option at all. Just in case if you feel incomplete with your traditional wedding cake, consider having individual or mini cakes along with that.

Just be very careful in choosing the dessert that would be served to your guests at your wedding reception. Do not stop your mind from giving you more and more ideas and discovering more options, because you would want your wedding cake to leave a long impact instead of spoiling one’s taste.
