Healthy Aging – Anti-Aging Therapies

The increase of popularity in the concept of anti-aging has put forth a great number of anti-aging therapies. These therapies aim at delaying the progress of aging. An effort has been made in this article to introduce several of anti-aging therapies.

• No therapy can replace the effect of having a balanced diet. A diet rich in all the five major nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals can furnish all the body needs. It provides the needed energy to carry out the normal activities to maintain health and eliminates the risk of major health hazards. A disease free body will definitely look younger and with full glow and vigor. Having a balanced diet helps to maintain optimum weight. An overweight body obviously looks aged and is the house for major ailments that fuel the aging process. Hence, if you are overweight the first step you need to do is reduce the weight.

• Another major factor that comes in handy to delay the aging process is the change of life style. People who are in a sedentary job and move very less, put up fat very easily. If it is not compensated by regular practice of physical exercise they will soon fall in the trap of aging process. For this reason, make a regular practice of whole body workouts as a part of your daily routine. It reduces the extent of free radicals within the body, a drive towards postponing the aging process.

• A great number of cosmetics are available to hide the signs of aging. The most preferred one is the Botox. It is a bacterial extract. It is taken in very mild doses, large volumes are highly dangerous. Botox is injected at a particular sight may be underneath the eyes to eliminate those worst wrinkles that make you look aged than you actually are. It stiffens the muscles around the site of injection and eliminates the wrinkles giving you a whole new look. However, it is not in the reach of everyone to pay huge amounts for one single dose of Botox. Another aspect to be considered is the temporary action that demands frequent doses to keep up the beauty.

• Another anti-aging therapy concentrates on curing the underlying diseases like diabetes, hyperthyroidism and age related diseases like Alzheimer’s disease. This can be considered as the best anti-aging therapy as it elevates the external beauty by eliminating the underlying cause. It can be considered as a permanent effect that remains as long as the underlying disease is under control.

• You can even increase the tender look of the skin by the use of the agents that decouple the complex structure of collagen. But it is not recommended.

• Other treatments include the use of hormones like androgens, testosterone, estrogen and growth hormones. Use of anti oxidants like vitamins and glutathione.

All of these treatments can be used to slow the aging process. Taking good care of the skin like regular application of moisturizers, use of sunscreen lotions and cleaning with cleansers to remove the dead skin cells will help to reduce the effect of aging on skin appearance.
