There are a great number of ways to lose weight. These steps may not be very effective in case of highly obese people but, they give promising results in case of people with low to moderate obesity. The following is the list of those ten simple ways to lose weight.
1. Listen to your body. If it is asking you to stop eating, stop it. Overcome the emotional eating habit, it is the main culprit for obesity. People with eating disorders suffer from emotional eating. Likewise, people treating the disorder will bring everything under control.
2. Have a perfect breakfast rich in nutrients, a moderate lunch and a very light dinner just to prevent your stomach from starving for very long hours. Follow the saying, eat like a king in the morning, eat like a common man in the afternoon and eat like a beggar at night. Having a glass of fresh fruit juice especially from citrus group will help to boost the detoxification process in the body, process that serves to eliminate the toxins of the body and maintains a healthy body.
3. Cultivate the habit of eating smaller and more number of meals. This will maintain the body metabolism that helps to burn great number of calories.
4. Have fiber rich foods like fresh fruits and vegetables. These give the feeling of fullness very fast and hold it for a very long time. It is just because fiber takes long time to digest.
5. Quit the habit of consuming alcohol. Taking very little amount of alcohol is good for health but, larger amounts are harmful. Especially avoid beer, it has lots of calories.

7. Never base your weight loss regime totally on diet pills or surgeries. They are only supportive to dieting and exercise. No other weight loss method can replace dieting and exercises. Never even think of fad diets that promise weight loss within a very short period. None of them work; they just steal money from you.
8. Move as much as you can. Say adios to stationary way of living. Prefer to go by walk if your walking in the nearby street.
9. Drink plenty of water. Having a glass of water half an hour before meals will curb the appetite to a great extent. If you feel thirsty have a drink of water but not a diet coke or soda.
10. Spend your leisure time playing with your kids rather than watching TV. This will not only keep you active but also improves your relationship with your kids. If you want to spend a vacation, think of spot where you can move actively, like trekking and beach games.
