How to Become a Bodybuilder – A Day and a Half in the Life of a Bodybuilder
By Mack LeMouse | Bodybuilding | Unrated

So, how to become a bodybuilder... here's my day and half as a bodybuilder...

Tuesday

8.30 - Waaaay too early to be waking up after last night but I have no choice. I can power it through when I have to and I manage to get to my lecture at 9 and survive another until 1pm. My breakfast consists of a single banana. I happily acknowledge that I'm one of the few who managed to do the early start after clubbing last night.

1pm - Hannah meets me at mine having not made it to the lecture. We then dump our plans to have coffee and instead enjoy a power nap.

4pm - We go out and buy ourselves a pizza to heat up at mine, along with some Ben and Jerry's. On the way to One Stop we bump into Janik who invites me to join him for his 'pull session' in the gym. This is part of a new push-pull programme I wrote for him recently that he's taken to well (the last programme I wrote him tore his biceps... ). I agree to meet him at 6.15 after dropping Hannah off.

6.30pm - I'm always late... anyway we make it to the gym and have a fairly light session consisting of:

Stretches

Pull ups - 12, 10, 10

60kg Cable bar-curls - 10, 10, drop set

3 sets of 12 70kg seated rows

3 sets of 12 120kg lat pull-downs

Cardio cool down

8pm - Janik and I now have dinner, consisting of high-protein cod fillet and rice with gravy. During this time we also enjoy a tea and the best bits from Independence Day.

10pm - I get back with the intention of working but instead write an article on Stallone (see above) and make a cool new promotional video for the Biomatrix. I do though manage to select a title. I also drink my favourite yogurt, eat some oranges and raisins and get to bed at 4am again.

Friday

11am - There's that curtain trick and I'm awake before noon again. This has been a great new leaf. I take advantage of this by using the time to lie in bed and read my new graphic novel 'It's a Bird' which is about a comic writer coming to terms with the concept of Superman. Deep. This early start also means I have time for brunch which consists of my last banana, another bowl of cereal and a tuna sandwich. You may have noticed I eat a lot of tuna - it is the ultimate food for protein, antioxidants and all sorts of other benefits.

2pm - Lecture. I write in my left hand a bit for ambidexterity training.

4pm - I collect Janik and we head into town, I need to pick up some bits for tonight's costume and we grab a coffee at the same time. I also get a sausage roll and a tuna crunch from Greggs. They're cheap and delicious - I fully endorse Greggs and if I had more cash I'd buy shares in them.

5pm - Time for the gym? There's always time. And so I head to the gym to cram in a session taken directly from Stallone's book. It consists of the following:

3 sets of 12 hanging raises

3 sets of 30 twisting crunches

3 sets of 12 incline bench dumbbell flies with 28kg

3 sets of 30 wide arm push ups

3 sets of 15 pull downs 77kg

3 sets of 12 one armed dumbbell rowes 20kg

3 sets of 12 dummbbel shrugs 20kg
