Dating Conversation Topics to Be Avoided
By Jason Ladock | Dating | Unrated

When on a first date you need to carefully choose dating conversation topics that will not put a quick end to the date. The date should be exciting and fun, it is not the right time to screen the other person and find out if they are the right match. Make sure that on your first date you never sound or look stupid. Make efforts to do something special for your date the first time you meet him/her. Even small little gestures can make a date a memorable day. Since the day is equally important for both of you then the effort should come from both sides.

There is an endless amount of topics to discuss on the first date and it is easy to switch it up throughout the date. You can easily get a great dating conversation going by talking about what you did during the day, what your hobbies are or you could even jump into issues concerning the latest celebrity gossip. You will quickly find out that these topics will easily lead into other discussions that will help you learn more about your date. But make sure that you never take up issues that involve any political point of view. It is recommended to not take up any controversial issues.

There are many other topics that you should definitely stay away from on a first date. Some topics that are not a good idea to bring up include politics, religion and especially racist comments or jokes. These topics may somehow make your date uncomfortable and in the worst scenario you may end up in a feud.

As hard as this may be for some of you, do not talk about your past relationships. Your date does not want to hear about whom you have dated in the past and why your relationship ended on a sour note. If you do this your date may even start to think that you are not over your ex and this is not a good time to start a new relationship.

Also try not to talk about sex. You may also want to avoid telling your date about any financial problems you may have or about any problems you may have at work. Leave these issues where they belong and do not bring them with you on your date. Remember first dates are meant to be fun.

Interests and hobbies make great first date topics but do not bring up any topics that are understood by a small bunch of people. If your date happens to be on of those few people then great! If not then they may find the subject boring and you will lose their interest fast.

Remember not to talk too much about yourself; it is important to listen as well. If you find yourself dominating the dating conversation topics then you need to get your date onto a topic where they can tell you about themselves and just keep them going.
