Lemonade Diet Facts

Lemonade diet is otherwise popularly called Master Cleanse diet. It has recently become quite popular, and is known to be very successful in eliminating the toxins that have been built in the body over years.

The weight loss which occurs due to master cleanse is by removing the excess water and fluid retention. It is not due to the loss of fat. Hence, people experience varied levels of success. This cleansing procedure requires a lot of determination and is not suitable for people who are very addicted to food. This is because solid food and supplements are completely avoided during the duration of which can be between 4 and 5 days or even extend to 2 weeks depending on how long you can control your craving for food. Avoid too much of physical activity while you are on a lemonade diet plan. In addition, during the starvation period, quit smoking and drinking completely as it may be very dangerous. The other symptoms or discomfort during this diet is feeling of hunger, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, headaches, sluggishness and constipation.

Note that this diet may not really suit some people as you are devoid of many essential nutrients. Fasting can also ruin the growth of healthy bacteria that are required for the normal functioning of the intestines and boosting immunity. You may also run the risk of losing lean muscle tissue during the process due to lack of protein in the diet. Hence, it is better to consult a doctor before you decide to go in for the lemonade diet to find out whether your body can withstand the strain.

The following are some of the benefits of the lemonade diet:

• eliminates any hardened material found in joints and muscles

• relieves the irritation and pressure in nerves, blood vessels and arteries

A sample of lemonade diet on a day consists of 60 oz spring water (distributed at 6 intervals at 10 oz per glass). Along with the water, mix 2 tbsp of Organic Grade B Maple Syrup, 2 tbsp of freshly squeezed organic lemon juice, a little more than half teaspoon of cayenne pepper. To avoid constipation due to lack of fibrous intake, you can consume laxative tea.

Once you decide to break the fast, you should slowly start back your solid food routine and not stuff a heavy meal immediately. Vegetable soup is highly recommended. You can also start consuming freshly squeezed citrus juices for up to 36 hours and then start consuming soft bland solid foods before going back to the routine. Until the second day after you break the juice fasting, avoid consuming fruits and vegetables.
