By Jonathan Pitts | Gardening | Unrated

It is quite sad to see that the plants of your garden are not growing. Now that you know the problem it is time for you to act. To make your plants starts growing you have to prune them. This method is carried out in a day which is warm. You should not start this procedure on a cold day. This will not provide any benefit on such a day. Thus a warm day is preferred for pruning your plants. You have to even take care of what plant you are going to prune in at what point of time. This step is very necessary. This is because different plants have different timings in the year for good pruning.

Like a deciduous plant should be pruned during winters. This is because it’s dormant and by this time of the year they already have shed leafs. But evergreen plants cannot be pruned during winters. The perfect timings for an evergreen plant are after their autumn, fall or winter. Pruning of such plants should be done after the season of growth. All these information is necessary because it assure a good growth of plant after wards. You should know the types of plants that are growing in your garden. If you are unaware of the type of plants that are growing then it becomes important for you to gain knowledge about them.

This will help you pruning your plants at the right time. After you have assessed everything about your plants then now it is the time to you start pruning them with required tools. It is necessary to know what part of plant needs to be pruned. After this think of the shape of your plant you want. Remove those branches of the tress that will never grow because they do not get the required sun light. It is better to remove them because they are only consuming their part of food but still not growing. Branches that are coiled with each other should also be removed. It is now required to clean the tree. Remove all the dead leaves and dry trunks. This helps other parts of the plants to receive the adequate amount of sunlight. This process helps in complete growth of plants.

Now that you have removed all the unwanted parts of the tree so it is the time for the plant to get the perfect shape. Whatever shapes you have decided trim the plant into that shape. This gives the plant a new look. Like we humans go for facials and regular medical checkups to the doctor. This process is similar to pruning for plants. For plants it instills life in them because all the dead parts of their body are removed. Plant’s functioning improves and thus it grows better. This should be done regularly for providing the plant with required attention. It is not like if you have done pruning once you will not have to do it again. This should be done regularly for plant’s good health.
