Are you a woman who is planning to go out on a date? If you want to make the man you are dating interested in you, you should know some conversation techniques that would make him interested in you. First dates are a bit nervous for the both parties concerned and you don’t need to feel different if you are nervous before your first date. As they say, first dates come once in a life time with the person whom you are meeting for the first time. Hence, it is natural to feel anxious about what to talk and what to avoid. So, it is better to go prepared with some topics that you can talk about. However, this does not mean that you cannot be natural and you should read from a prepared script. What this mean is that you keep the topics at the back of your mind and bring them up at appropriate times to enliven the conversation.

The first rule of a good date is that it should be interactive. If you talk continuously throughout the evening or if your man talks non-stop it would certainly leave the other with a bored expression. It is necessary to remember that you should step in and out of the conversation letting the other person respond and let know what he feels about what you are saying at that moment. To come to what to talk, it would be better to start the evening talking about the weather or the latest football game instead of getting serious upfront. These are good ice breakers that are time tested and would be recommended by many people. Furthermore, do not start off the evening with too many questions. Of course, it is natural to be curious but wait for the right moment to ask the right questions.

Discuss of some interesting and current topics. Considering the current economic slowdown, this is one topic that is bound to be on everybody’s mind. It is bound to come up at some stage or the other. Handle this topic with care and do not be intrusive about the other person’s financial or career prospects. If you get to know the person well, the information about these is going to crop up and your questions would be answered. For the time being, general remarks and some banter about how hard it is would do. There are many people who would say that being a bit inquisitive is good as it means that you are interested in the other person. The point here is that one should know the difference between being inquisitive and intrusive. You can always show interest without being overly aggressive about it.

Finally, remember that a first date is the time when you form the first impressions about your man. And first impressions are sometimes the best impressions according to the cliché. Whatever be the case, do not ruin the date and let the flow of conversation go without disturbing it too much.
