The Process of Natural Body Detoxification
By Mark Perry | Fasting Cleansing | Unrated

Detoxifying the body involves removing harmful toxins or heavy metals by neutralizing or eliminating them through skin, lungs, liver, lymph, colon, gut and kidneys. The body has a natural mechanism of detoxifying through these organs but the overload of the harmful toxins cannot be helped, and it has recently increased drastically due to the use of antibiotics and other external factors like increase in pesticide content, pollution and contamination of natural resources like air and water. This may be quite harmful to the body and cause a lot of abnormalities as these harmful toxins still remain internally and mix up with the blood stream causing various adverse reactions.

The harmful substances can result in various degenerative and chronic diseases and hence, have to be flushed out of the system periodically to keep the chemicals and toxins under check. Since our internal and external organs naturally eliminate the toxins, we need to aid them to function normally by giving adequate nourishment.

Liver is one of the most important organs which filter out the harmful substances from the blood stream. Bright coloured fruits and vegetables like berries, peppers, apricots, tomatoes and lemons help in the normal functioning of the liver. In addition, one should include a lot of cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts and broccoli in the diet. Onion and garlic which contain sulphur also help in the liver functioning.

Lungs purify the air that you inhale and remove toxic gases, dust and carbon dioxide from the body. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples and onions help in the effective functioning of the lungs.

The kidneys are another vital organ which helps in diluting the toxins and removing excess water and also the harmful substances from the body by filtering the blood. Parsley leaf, herbal teas, juicy fruits and vegetables and plenty of water are required for the normal functioning of the kidneys.

Skin removes the toxins through oil secretion, sweat and shedding dead cells. Pumpkins seeds, water, flax seeds and walnuts help a lot in skin detoxification.

Gut performs the important function of separating the harmful content from the stomach and sending the filtered content for further processing to the liver. The bowels also excrete the toxins along with the feces. If the bowels do not function properly, they would end up reabsorbing the toxins and put them back to the blood stream. Hence, the blood circulation in the body would not be pure and result in adverse reactions. Dried fruits, prunes, apples, berries, oats, beans, lentils, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and fibrous foods help in the normal functioning of the guts.

Water content is very important for the normal functioning of the lymphatic system which helps in removing harmful waste from the body.

To improve general health, resort to using natural products and its derivatives, and avoid synthetic nutrient supplements and medications to avoid building up toxin content in the body. Herbal tea, green juices, wheat grass and other natural products help in cleansing of the cells, blood, liver and kidneys and help in treating ulcers and other intestinal abnormalities. They are also required for the normal functioning of lymphatic systems and bowels.
