How to Improve Eyesight Naturally
By Jacob Mabille | Low Vision | Unrated

Vision problems and inaccuracies can be prevented by constantly exercising your eyes and eye muscles. In addition, there are certain natural treatments that could prevent certain types of eye disorders like macular degeneration which could ultimately lead to permanent blindness.

Here are some simple tips for eye care:

• Keep blinking constantly so that moisture is retained. In addition, dryness should not occur in the eyes as it may lead to harmful particles entering your eyes leading to infections.

• Excessive straining of eyes by staring for long hours at the television screen and computer monitor should be avoided. This puts a lot of strain on the eye muscles and may cause severe damage in the long run.

• Simple eye exercises at regular intervals can give constant rest to your eyes. Consciously rest your eye muscles every now and then in order to give sufficient rest to the eye muscles.

• Eyes should be protected from bright lights and glares by wearing goggles and sunglasses.

• Even while swimming, protect your eyes with glasses so that contaminated water does not enter your eyes causing infections.

• Avoid excessive contact of your eyes with the hands by touching, rubbing or applying pressure excessively. This would increase the risk of external particles entering and damaging your eyes.

• Follow a regular routine of massaging and relaxing your eyes to make the muscles stronger and healthier.

• Wash your hands before you touch your eyes. In case any irritants or allergens enter your eyes accidentally, wash immediately with fresh cold water in order to prevent any damage.

• Wear sunglasses when your eyes are exposed to excessive bright light.

• Wear protective glasses while driving in order to protect your eyes from glaring head lights from cars, trucks and other vehicles.

• Wear goggles when executing certain tasks that might result in materials coming in contact with your eyes.

• Consume food items rich in vital nutrients like vitamin A, E and C. Fish oil and zinc; they also help in maintaining healthy eyes.

• Carrots are highly beneficial for your eyes. Eat carrot salads or consume carrot juice on a regular basis. This is known to prevent bad eyesight and night blindness.

• There are some therapeutic herbs that are highly recommended for the healthy maintenance of eyes. Some examples include Bilberry Extract, Mahonia Grape Extract, Aspalathus and Grape Seed Extract. They improve eye function, improve the functioning of retina, protect the eyes from UV light and promote immunity. Some of these herbs are known to prevent eye disorders like retinal diseases or eye degenerative diseases.

• Follow a regular exercise regimen for at least 15 – 20 minutes to relax your eyes, balance the use of both your eyes and regulate eye ball movements.

In addition, simple lifestyle tips like avoiding smoking, drinking and substance abuse are important. It is also advisable to keep the cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure levels under control.
