Marijuana Addiction and Its Impact
By Kyle Oliart | Substance Abuse | Unrated

We all are familiar with the name ‘Marijuana’. This is the type of drug abused by the youth out there today. What actually is this Marijuana? It can be found in various dull colors, mostly in green made up of substance similar to tobacco. Things like dried leaves, seeds and hemp plant flowers are mixed up in Marijuana or Hashish. It is being smuggled worldwide today known by around 200 names.

Basically, Marijuana contains a chemical called THC that is used in the medical field for healing. It changes the way mind works and makes the individual not think about things clearly. During the 1970 era, it got out of the medical field and having strong addiction capabilities it got used as a dreaded drug. Due to this, it was banned and said to be illegal making it something to get smuggled around the world.

Normally, Marijuana is filled in an empty cigarette and smoked effecting on the brain in no time. Being too addictive it rapidly reaches the brain and gets along with the nerve receptors that are in charge of pleasure, memory, thought, coordination and concentration. It starts altering these activities and makes them weak. I have seen professional drinkers quit alcohol but someone addicted to Marijuana is worst then that.

The most negative impact is that the Marijuana is the only thing in the addicts mind and he is worried all the time about how to get it and how to manage the money for it. With time the intake quantity increases hitting the health harder and harder. In the beginning it is not that hard to quit but the harmful effects do not show at that time. When the individual gets to know what Marijuana is all about and how it is killing him, it is too late to give up such a drug.

By that time, the person will be suffering from the problems of weak memory, cannot remember things, unable to stay serious and focused, not being able to learn and memorize things, leading towards a hazard in the end. Marijuana addiction can be taken as a disease that needs time to be cured with regular medication and therapy.

If you are someone having such friends or thinking about trying Marijuana, I would say that this is the worst choice ever. Think carefully before you take such a step.
