How to Select a Motivational Speaker?
By Jonathan Pitts | Motivation | Unrated

Your business depends heavily on your employees. But the big pressure in today’s work can easily distract the focus of your employees. So only a good employer will think seriously over this matter and select a good motivational speaker to keep his employees focused on their work. It is very important that your employees are not just talented but also motivated towards their work. Thus keeping your business alive and thriving.

While choosing a motivational speaker you can choose either a self motivator or a leadership motivator. The first is the one with background in sports, adventure or has triumphed over some personal obstacles. He is more of a self-made man. They are of the types who have become winner after facing enough obstacles and troubles.

The second is with background in business, military or some sort of grouped organization. They are generally good speakers and are usually responsible for managing teams and groups. They are usually experienced and expert in their particular field.

Before choosing the right type of motivational speaker you should also know the audience first. You should research your employees and find out the type of motivation they need. Just for example if individual motivation is necessary then the self motivator is best suited for the job. He can help the employees both in their personal and professional lives. Although he might exactly know how to motivate himself and motivate another people with problems similar to his, he might not be effective to motivate people from different backgrounds. Else if your employees need to be motivated towards team-spirit and shared visions then the leadership motivator would be best to hire. Similarly, a leadership motivator will appeal more towards senior people in business like CEO, directors and team leaders. However, they might not be able to address a particular individual issue as effectively as they can address a general issue.

It is important that the motivator be very explicit. He might make jokes; say anecdotes and stories to get his message delivered to the audience. He might be formal or informal with the people he is dealing with. But he should have a clear vision of the problems and needs of his audience too. No matter what style he may use, he should be inspiring and a model to follow for everyone.

If you as an employer are able to make the right decision by selecting the most appropriate motivational speaker you will always be one step ahead of your competitors.
