By Jonathan Pitts | Cooking | Unrated

We all want to watch what we eat. Some do it because others are doing it. Some do it because their loved ones monitor what they eat and a half of us actually do it to take care of our health. Whatever the case may be, the order of the day is to eat healthy and ultimately be healthy. In this quest to a great health it is not necessary that one must give up their passion for good food. There are ways to avoid compromising good tasting food. Healthy food and low calorie food is possible to make in all cuisines.

Chinese is one of the most popular cuisines in the world. You get it in all forms. In fast food available at different food courts, in expensive 5 star restaurants and made on carts on city streets. Though it is readily available, it is not always in the healthiest conditions, not to mention the least friendly calorie. However, with a little diligence and persistence, you can actually make your own low calorie Chinese food, which is just as delicious as the restaurant made counterpart.

2. Fill a pot with water and with slices of ginger, spring onion, garlic and 1/3 cup of salt and 1/3 cup of pepper. Bring this to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.

3. Now prepare the rice. Wash the rice and drain out the water.

4. Heat up your frying pan and put the chicken in it. Cook the chicken till it is half cooked. Next add the onions, garlic, spring onion and ginger, and fry together for 4 minutes till caramelized.

5. Add the chicken stock with the chicken and onions. Add the potatoes, carrots and capsicum. Keep frying till the chicken is cooked and the stock becomes thicker. Bring the stock to a boil and then leave it until the chicken and vegetables are tender.
