How to Find the Best Tanning Beds
By Rick Missimer | Tanning | Unrated

Who doesn’t want that healthy glow like the Greek goddesses are said to have. Some of us are blessed with it, while some of us have to work to get it. The ones who aren’t, they invest in bronzers, tint creams, tanning lotions, all of which are temporary solutions. However, since permanency is not always a good thing, investing in sessions at a tanning salon will be the best bet for those who want a longer lasting solution to dull, pale skin.

Choosing the proper tanning bed can prove to be a little difficult, especially if you know nothing on the subject of tanning. Don’t let your quest to getting that perfect glow block you from making the right choice when it comes to finding the best tanning bed. Though not as powerful as the natural UV Rays that the sun produces, a tanning bed can give anyone their desired look, provided they know what they are doing.

There are many things one must consider in finding the right kind of tanning bed for the right kind of tan. Depending on whether you want just a simple glow or a major tan, you can figure out what the best kind of tanning bed will be.

There are three different types of tanning beds that one can opt for, depending on the result desired. The tanning capabilities of different tanning beds depend on their pressure levels.

A low pressure tanning bed is what would be considered as the traditional tanning bed. UV rays are emitted in a spectrum that is similar to natural sunlight. The lamps produce fast colour but the risk of sunburn is highest in this kind of bed. This kind of tanning bed is not for people who burn easily.

With a high pressure bed, a higher proportion of UVA rays are emitted as compared to UVB rays, which cause sunburn. Though the tan takes longer to build with this bed, it tends to be longer lasting and deeper.

For people who may be claustrophobic or extremely concerned about their hygiene, a tanning booth may be the right option. A tanning booth is a vertical tanning bed where instead of laying down, a person has to stand up. As a result, the parts of your skin that would be hidden increases, while lying down will be exposed. This ultimately provides a more even tan. Because your skin does not come in contact with any surface, it also proves to be more hygienic. A lot of times, people may not be comfortable with letting their bare skin touch a surface that other people would have touched. A tanning booth is more hygienic because your skin doesn’t come in contact with surfaces that other people’s skin has touched.

Beds have different names, different specifications and, different prices for a minute. Fortunately, you don’t need to be an expert to find the right tanning bed; you have to know about only a few simple facts. They are all discussed below.

The kind of bulb used in the tanning bed can also help you to determine whether to use it or not. There are generally two kinds of bulbs, UVB and UVA. With a UVB bulb, a person needs to invest more time to get a base tan, sometimes even 3-5 times a week. With a UVA bulb, you can get more or less the same result by spending more money on that one visit and will not have to go 3-5 times per week, but in month.

Before you decide to go to a tanning booth and expose yourself to prolonged UV light, it is important to educate yourself and do the proper research. Ultimately, if you want that beautiful glow or tan, make sure you do it responsibly and don’t compromise your skin.
