By Rick Missimer | Pest Control | Unrated

A nasty insect, cockroaches are capable of damaging every possible object in your house. They can damage your furniture, personal belongings and most importantly your health. They carry bacteria and other harmful diseases with them, which is why they need to be evacuated as quickly as possible.

Usually active in the dark, they feed themselves with almost anything and everything. Uncovered food items, exposed trash, unwashed dishes, or any other grocery item could be a possible meal for them. They are found in almost all parts of the world. Your house could possibly be their favorite destination spot, as they have no problems living with human beings.

About ½ inches long and brown in color, they are frightening in appearance, and can scare one in the middle of the night. Some tough guys can withstand the sight of snakes and rats, but not cockroaches. While some cockroaches can fly, they are usually not seen flying.

The worst part is that they breed very rapidly. Once they invade your house, it’s usually difficult to get rid of them completely. Let’s examine the most effective and inexpensive ways to kill cockroaches.

Cockroach Traps

Many people rely on cockroach traps to eliminate these insects. These traps can be handmade, or purchased from a nearby store. Most traps have strong glue fixed on them, which traps the cockroaches, until they die of thirst or starvation.

Place a cockroach trap at corners of your house which is frequently visited by cockroaches. This will ensure that you are able to get rid of large numbers every quickly. The only downside to this method is that you might end up with a bunch of dead cockroaches to clean up, post the slaughter.

Spray Insecticides

There are large varieties of insecticides available in the market, which are designed to kill cockroaches. Spray these insecticides over all their hiding and entering locations. Make sure to use these insecticides safely, avoiding their exposure on your eyes and skin.

Use Water Jars

This is yet another simple and effective ways to get rid of cockroaches. Place water jars next to the wall, allowing the entry of cockroaches into the jar with no exit route, in order to trap them. Once trapped, one can either kill or dispose them.

Prepare Cockroaches Bait

Cockroaches bait is a good recipe to kill cockroaches. They not only kill cockroaches attracted towards it, but they also prevent their population as these cockroaches carry the bait to their youth.

Call Pest Control

Cockroaches breed incredibly fast. Their population can increase in no time. If you need to get rid of them immediately without going through much hassle on your own, then you can call a professional pest control agency. They will be able to help you evacuate cockroaches, keeping the safety measures in mind.

Cockroaches are regular invaders. Getting rid of them once, does not stop them from re-entering your house. Irrespective of the method you follow, the key factor is to avoid their re-entry by all possible means. Avoid leaving exposed food items, insulate all open pipes and eliminate all other attractive sources of cockroaches to prevent their comeback into your lovely house.
