By Mark Perry | Cooking | Rating:

Desserts are usually served cold. This is a good idea after a hot heavy meal, and everything else will be finished off with a cold and sweet dessert of the day. Besides, these desserts are quite easy to do because there is almost no cooking involved. It is more of mixing everything and then putting everything into the freezer to be frozen up, and served cold when ready. These are some easy and interesting cold dessert recipes that you can do.

1. Pineapple Cream Pie

Ingredients:

1 can crushed pineapple

8 oz cream cheese

8 oz cool whip

Just mix everything in a bowl. Put on graham crackers. Enjoy and eat!

2. Cold Dessert

1 pkg. Jell-O (4 servings) (any flavor)

1 pkg. dream whip or cool whip (at least 9 oz., preferably more)

Prepare the jello by using one cup of hot water and 1/2 cold water. Just mix everything then refrigerate. This is best to eat when chilled.

3. Cookies and Cream Parfait

1 box (3.4 oz) cook and serve chocolate pudding and pie filling

2 cups milk

2 soft chocolate cookies

1 cup nondairy whipped topping

chocolate curls for garnishing

To prepare the parfait - Put 1/4 cup of pudding into a sherbet glass. Top it with 2 tbsp of nondairy whipped topping. Then crumble half a cookie and put into the parfait. Top it once more with 1/4 cup of pudding and put 2 tbsp of the whipped topping again. You can make it more appealing by garnishing with some chocolate curls.

4. Angel Food Delight

Ingredients:

2 angel food cakes

2 (15 oz) cans of crushed pineapple, drained

2 cans (8 oz) of cool whip, thawed

1 bag of flaked coconut

1 large jar of maraschino cherries, drained and cut into halves

Break one angel cake into bite size pieces and put into a pan. Top with 1 can pineapple and half of the cherries. Use 1 container of the cool whip and spread all over the pan and top it with coconut flakes as much as you want. Break the other angel cake into pieces and repeat the layering of the other ingredients. Cover and let it stay in the fridge overnight.

5. Ice Cream Delight

Ingredients:

1 angel food cake

1/2 gallon of strawberry ice cream

1 cup of fresh strawberries

whipped cream

Put angel cake in a flat platter. Using an icing knife, cover the whole sides of cake with strawberry ice cream. Before the ice cream starts to melt, quickly put on the strawberries on sides of the cake. You can use the other half of strawberries to make a cute design on the cake. Freeze until ice cream hardens. Top with delicious whipped cream and its ready to serve.

6. Banana Cream Pie

Ingredients:

2 packages instant vanilla pudding

2 bananas

1 pre-made pie crust

wafers
