Easy Grilled Chicken Marinade
By Jason Ladock | Cooking | Unrated

Making grilled chicken needs you to marinate it for a long time, usually overnight or a minimum of half an hour. Most of the chicken recipes these days require you to marinate it overnight. Chicken is usually marinated to make it tender and also to add flavor in it. You can consider marinating as a part of the process of cooking, where no heat is required most of the times. However, you should not overdo it, as you’ll end up messing the taste. Here are some of the best marinade preparations that you can use for making grilled chicken.

Recipe 1: Start with taking 2 tablespoons of olive oil and mix with it 2 tablespoons of hot pepper sauce in a shallow baking pan. Then, add 1 tablespoon of limejuice, 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 cloves of garlic (finely minced), 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Mix all the ingredients well and add 2 teaspoons of paprika, and again mix it well so that it blends completely with the ingredients. The marinade should be of the consistency of paste. You can then place the chicken pieces in the marinade sauce for 3-4 hours and then grill it at 450ºC for 5-6 minutes. You can reduce the heat later and cook slightly at a lower temperature.

Recipe 2: Take 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce and 1 tablespoon of mustard. Mix it well; now add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 part of Italian dressing. Mix all the ingredients, and to top it add a pinch of bay seasoning and a pinch of pepper. Mix everything in a shallow bowl and put it in a plastic bag. If you have a vacuum bag then it would be the best. Put your chicken pieces in this bag and then pour the marinade sauce on it. Make sure that it covers all the chicken pieces. Once this is done, seal the bag and refrigerate it. Keep it for 8 hours before you plan to grill the chicken. Once done, remove the chicken pieces and grill them to enjoy the best taste.

Recipe 3: You can try this marinade recipe for grilled chicken. Take 1 cup of white wine and add half a cup of extra virgin olive oil. Chop 1 small onion and 4 cloves of garlic and add them to the mixture, squeeze 1 or 2 lemons and add the juice to this mixture, have some finely chopped fresh chilies and add a drop or two of white wine vinegar. Add salt and pepper to the mixture and mix all the ingredients well. This will give you one of the best marinades for your grilled chicken recipe. Soak the chicken in that marinate for overnight and then grill right before serving. When soaking the chicken pieces in marinate, make sure that all the pieces are covered.

No matter which recipe you use for marinating the chicken pieces, make sure that you discard the sauce that remains behind. It is advisable that you should not taste after the marinating period is over and should not use the sauce for marinating again.
