‘For a Day’ Experiences – These are quite good fun and can be found on various websites online. The idea is that the recipient spends one day in the life of a certain profession. That could be a race car driver, a zoo keeper, a police man… you name it. Some of these involve some not so fun tasks (cleaning out lion poo…) but it’s an experience that will stay with them for life and the good bits should certainly outweigh the bad. And there’s no doubt that this will be a unique male gift idea.
A Balloon Ride – A balloon ride is another great experience that can be a romantic or adventurous male gift idea.
Jewellery – People forget that men like jewellery too, and if you’re looking to buy a fairly expensive gift then jewellery is a great option. As men generally own fewer items of jewellery it means that they tend to put more emphasis on each piece. The jewellery you buy for a guy then needs to be really nice or there’s really no point, but the sentimental value of it being a gift will give it special importance to start with. For male gift ideas think chains, bracelets or rings (not earrings or necklaces) and try to keep them fairly chunky and silver (gold can look a bit bling so only works for a certain kind of guy). Of course the ultimate piece of jewellery for any guy is a timepiece, so if you want to get them a really special and expensive gift, look into a nice watch. For extra sentimentality you could even get it inscribed.
Humorous/Novelty Gift – If all else fails and this isn’t a guy you know particularly well, then a novelty gift can be a fun and easy option. These can be funny mugs, socks or ornaments, or a gift that somehow nods to an in-joke between you.
A Personalised Book – Using some websites you can now publish your own material, meaning that if you want to write something for someone you can now present it to them with a professional published finish and all you pay is the printing costs.
