How to Get Rid of Dandruff Easily
By Jason Ladock | Skin Conditions | Unrated

The bad habit of scratching your head and scalp means that there is something wrong. This is a warning sign that you might have dandruff. At times, it can be just an ordinary problem but it can lead to a more complicated one if left unattended. Maybe it would be a good start to find out what causes dandruff in the first place; then we can start to look for ways to prevent and control it or completely put a stop to it.

Dandruff may affect the young and old. It can be considered as seasonal because it occurs more during the cold season and occurs less in summer. The causes of dandruff may be due to oily scalp, infection, excessive shampooing and bad grooming habits. Emotional problems like stress and anxiety are also likely causes of dandruff.

There are inexpensive ways to prevent or control dandruff. First, it’s all about the health issues. Avoid too much stress and anxiety. Avoid eating foods with too much sugar and fats; this will cause some imbalance of nutrients that may lead to dandruff. Just make sure to eat a well balanced diet of fresh fruits and vegetables. A good hair vitamin is a good supplement too.

There are good anti dandruff shampoos available in supermarkets. Look for a shampoo with Ketoconazole. This product contains Nizoral which is very effective against dandruff. Just follow the shampoo instructions.

You may also want to treat your hair with combined mixtures of aloe vera, tea tree oil, or a 50% concentration of Apple cedar vinegar, which can all be very useful home remedies for moisturizing the hair and scalp.

You can also try the egg treatment by mixing 2 eggs and 2 tsp of water and then apply the mixture on your wet hair. Massage into scalp and hair for about 10 minutes and rinse with some lukewarm water.

The vinegar treatment is also an inexpensive way to prevent dandruff. Combine six spoonfuls of water, two spoonfuls of pure vinegar and massage gently on the scalp by using some cotton. You can leave it on overnight for better results. Just cover your head with some extra towels to protect your beddings. Then you can wash your hair and shampoo the next day. You can do this treatment once a week for at least three months.

Do remember that having dandruff is unhealthy for the hair and scalp. It can be prevented and controlled if we really want to. The best inexpensive treatment is keeping the hair and scalp clean and healthy by using non toxic hair products that are gentle enough for frequent use.
