When you are still a kid you practiced exercises regularly without even knowing that you are doing it. That’s right! For kids playing actively is a good exercise. They do not have to go gym like adults. A great number of benefits are associated by letting children play actively.
Now-a-days we see a great number of kids attached to televisions all the time. A great number of children who lead a sedentary life-style are obese. To avoid the problem of obesity in children, it is essential to involve them actively in certain physical activity regularly for a certain period of the day. Toddlers who are below two years should be involved in physical activity for a period of one and half hour. Kids, who are older than two years should be involved in physical activity for a period of two hours regularly. For children who go to school, it is enough for about one hour or more. However, for best results the period should be broken into periods of fifteen minutes.
Kids who play actively all the time have a perfect health, low body cholesterol, greater concentration power, strong bones and muscles and they can even avoid major health problems when they grow up. If you involve kids in physical activity throughout the day, you do not have to work hard to put them to sleep. They automatically go to sleep out of the tiredness. Another advantage is that they feel hungry and you do not have to force them to eat. They develop self-confidence and can easily face any challenge in their life.
Physical activity helps to develop best qualities in your child such as patience, strength and a flexible body and mind. A flexible mind can easily adjust to unforeseen circumstances. Thus, when you teach any new game to your kid, try to check that the game includes the above qualities.
Another easy way to develop patience among kids is yoga practice or breathing exercises. Aerobic exercises help to circulate blood to all parts of the body and maintain them with perfect health. A healthy body will automatically have patience to face anything. If your kid does not show interest in yoga practice, there are a great number of aerobic exercises such as volleyball, basketball, bicycling, soccer, tennis and walking. You can participate along with them. This will not only improve your kid’s health but also your health and it also strengthens your bond with your kid.
Coming to strength training, kids generally do not need specific strength training as it involves in their natural activity such as climbing, or do a handstand. If your child shows interest in pull-ups, stomach crunches and push-ups allow him to practice them. They help to build the muscles and bones.
Cultivating the habit of regular physical activity right from childhood allows it to be continued throughout the life which helps them to maintain an ideal health. Therefore, to have a healthy future generation, teach them the importance of physical exercises right from childhood.
