The conventional way of treatment is to visit a doctor who will prescribe some antibiotics upon diagnoses. Follow the instructions on the number of days you should take the prescribed antibiotics. In case of chronic infection they usually specify it to be taken for 21 days.

There are several home remedies available for the cure of chronic infection. Home remedies are a natural way to eliminate this infection with no or very little cost.

Steam inhalation is a good way to relief oneself from the infection. Applying cold or hot compressors is also a well known way to get relief from the infection. Applying cinnamon and water on the forehead, paste of ginger and basil leaves along with water are also practiced to get relief from sinus.

Extreme sinus condition might even invite surgery. This will be required only when your infection does not respond to any of the antibiotics or home remedy treatments. This method can be costly.

In rare cases, chronic infection can also result to death, especially when the infection affects vital body organs like the brain. However, these are absolute rare occurrences which are experienced by only a handful of individuals.

Chronic sinus infection isn’t contagious, however, that doesn’t discount the fact that they can be inconvenient to deal with. One should seek immediate treatment for a quick recovery and better health.
