We all wish to live life to the fullest, but lazing around without any purpose, staying moody and being grumpy just won’t help. You need to take active measures to make your life better. Here are a few tips to help you do that.
• Wake up early. Start by getting up half an hour earlier than usual. Use this half an hour to exercise, go for a walk or read the newspaper or take a shower.
• Eat healthy. A healthy body begets a healthy mind. Eat a well balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables and low on fats. Remember, never skip breakfast. This will make you lethargic and irritable throughout the day. It doesn’t take much time or effort to whip up a healthy breakfast. A banana or apple with a glass of milk or a bowl of cereal will do.
• Don’t let anger get the better of you. Learn how to manage your anger effectively and deal with your anger in a healthy manner. Don’t yell and scream at anyone who crosses your path. It creates a bad impression and serves to make you even more frustrated.
• Learn to say "NO". If someone demands too much from you, learn to say that it is not possible. Learn how to be assertive.
• Don’t hold grudges. Learn how to forgive and forget. Keeping every small issue in mind and fuming over it only gives rise to bitterness. If you feel that you are in the wrong, don’t hesitate to go ahead and say "Sorry". This will ease a big burden from your heart.
• Communicate effectively. Learn how to express your needs and feelings through your words – both written and spoken. Effective communication is essential for building a good personality.
• Dress smart and dress as per the occasion. Let your clothes be stylish yet simple and elegant. Smartly dressed people ooze confidence and style, so inspect your wardrobe and get rid of outdated and unfit clothes or use them at home.
• Be thankful for what you have. In other words, count your blessings. This will boost your mood and your attitude in general. Be thankful for the little things like the food you eat and the relationships that make your life worthwhile.
• Be optimistic. Try to see the positive side of things instead of moping about how bad the situation is and how helpless you are. It is up to you to get going and change the situation. Take problems as challenges.
• A healthy self esteem is a must for a healthy personality. Your self esteem depends on the way you view yourself, so instead of finding faults with yourself, start loving yourself.
• Live an organized life. Sort out the things that you need to do on a particular day and make to-do lists by arranging the tasks in the order of priority.
• Don’t leave things for later. If there is something you can do here and now, do it. Piling up things will only add to your stress and tension levels.
• Do volunteer work. Helping others and contributing to society adds meaning and purpose to your life.
• Smile often. A smile doesn’t cost you anything and it sends out positive vibes. Try smiling and you will see others smile back at you. Even the shyest people will return a smile.
