Different Types of Dyslexia

Dyslexia is a known learning disorder associated with spelling and reading. A person with dyslexia has a poor reading comprehension and is experiencing difficulty in adjusting to simple instructions. It’s really hard and confusing to discuss about dyslexia and everything about it, but hopefully through this you’ll be able to have an idea on how you can interpret the term. To start with, you should know what dyslexia really means, by knowing its different types; you will be able to understand it fully, here are the different types of dyslexia:

1. A surface dyslexia – Person who suffers in this kind of disorder experienced pronunciation and inconsistency in English speaking.

2. Phonological dyslexia – Person who fails to grasp the phonic of English language. Those who have this cannot link English sounds properly to translate it into words.

3. Double deficit dyslexia – This is a condition of a person with combined surface and phonological dyslexia.

4. Auditory dyslexia & visual dyslexia – This is all about neurological weakness.

5. Orthographic dyslexia – Problems in dealing with letters and alphabets.

Dyslexia is a rare condition, there’s only 1 out of 10 people suffers from this condition. Thousands of people don’t know why they are having problems with reading, spelling, letters and math. This happened primarily because these people do not know that they are dyslexic. It’s sad to think that most people who suffer from this case think that they are stupid because they just can’t cope in school. It shouldn’t be the case if they only know what’s really happening to them.

It is important to seek for professional help once you experience hardness to cope with an academic subject such as English. Seeking for help will help you overcome the stress of coping with school and in academic affairs of your life. The sooner you find out your situation, the more you will be able to do something about it. The sooner you knew your condition the sooner you’ll be able to stop the painful feeling of being left out and being depressed.

In this modern time, there are certain situations that are easy to assess because of modern devices that can easily assess certain health condition. It’s never too late for dyslexic individuals to have a change of life. There are lots of organizations that aim to help those with family members suffering from similar situation. If you are one of them, you can seek for their help, which they are very much willing to provide you.

Feel free to make your own research on how you can improve yourself and the people you love. Though dyslexia is not a rare condition, a non-governmental organization provides awareness which you can grab in order for you to move on and push through in life. You don’t have to be depressed with your situation, all you need to do is to work harder for improvements and you’ll see that you’ll be somebody someday through your hard work and perseverance.
