Asperger Syndrome Behavior
By Jonathan Pitts | Mental Health | Unrated

Asperger syndrome is a psychiatric disorder that is seen in early teenagers. This disorder is symbolized by the mutilated social relationships as a result of recurring behavior that people show when suffering from this syndrome. Most of the time, there is no problem in the language development but these people face a problem with interacting with others because of their restricted interest.

The asperger syndrome has been categorized as a part of autism. This is because of the fact that the characteristics and the symptoms of asperger syndrome are similar to those of autism. The symptoms of asperger syndrome vary from one person to another and differ in ages. However, there are some common behavioral patterns that you can observe in people suffering from this disorder. Let’s see the asperger syndrome behavior patterns.

The most common behavioral pattern seen among people with asperger syndrome is that they are insensitive and lack of understanding towards their colleagues. They find it difficult to interact with people, and hence they have a very few friends. It is also seen that people with this disorder lack the urgency in reacting to certain situations and conditions.

People with asperger syndrome though have an understanding of all the human emotions, are still unable to express their feelings openly. This makes them look insensitive in certain circumstances. These people also have a problem in talking to people of their age and sharing their interests and experiences. When talking to others, they might have a problem in making eye contact and would also make awkward facial expressions, and at times would also exhibit some weird gestures.

Usually, people with asperger syndrome start a one-sided conversation and would not understand the interest of the listener. They love to have long conversations about their interests without realizing the interest of the other person or making a note whether they are concentrating on the conversation. Apart from this, they would also lack flexibility and you would observe a fear of change in these people.

People with asperger syndrome tend to have delayed attainment motor skills and also lack of the coordination in physical movements. Though they have an understanding of the social code of conduct, they still find it difficult to move according to the norms of the society. It can be put in a way that they want to socialize but lack in striking the right cord.

People with asperger syndrome would not show any problem in acquiring of language skills. However, they might show some problem in the processing of the language. They would usually use extra words and also descriptions that are understood only by them. Most of the times, they are unable to understand a situation in detail, and have problems in comprehending a subject in detail. It is also observed that people with asperger syndrome have an excellent vocabulary but fail to understand the use of words in specific contexts. They also have a lack of understanding humor and sarcasm.

If you know someone who is suffering from asperger syndrome then rather than making fun of the person, it is advised that you help him or her out in your own way. Reach out to them and help them increase their confidence, because at times these people might suffer from frustration and depression and lose interest in life.
