Arthritis is a known situation in humans. Who would ever think that even animals like dogs will ever suffer the same diseases that humans have. The known effect that causes pets to have arthritis is much different from humans. Human’s experiences arthritis due to old age, this is not the case in dogs, most of them rarely have a disease during their adulthood.

There are different types of arthritis found in dogs. They are 14 to be exact. Arthritis in dog is commonly caused by degenerative diseases and accidents that result to ligament problems. Although arthritis is famous with older dogs, it is most commonly seen in larger dogs. The weight of the dog is one of the main reasons for having arthritis.

This can also be the same case with humans. Those who are overweight can be at high risk of having arthritis later on in life. This is primarily because the bones on the lower part of the body are having a hard time to support the upper part because of overweight. Although there is a sign that your dog may indicate that it has arthritis, some of the most common signs are the following:

• Difficulty moving & jumping

• Difficulty to wake up each day

• Favoring limb

• Hesitant to move

• Weight gain

• Less alertness

• Decreased initiative to play

When you see these signs, you should be alert and start taking your dog to a veterinarian. Through proper medication, you will be able to help you dog to be well again. It’s so hard to be sick especially when you know how much arthritis would hurt the elderly. With the use of anti-inflammatory drugs you will be able to help your dog to save him from the annoying pain he’s suffering. Regular exercise and strict weight control will help save your dog from the pain and distress.

You need to take note that an anti-inflammatory drug is a part of the regimen. Your pet should drink it regularly for them to be well again. Don’t give any kind of drug to your dog as it may harm their body, you can get the right prescribed drug from your nearest vet. Taking care of dogs can be similar in taking care of humans. They need proper attention, care and time for them to survive. You need to love them fully so that in return they will give it back a hundred fold.

Taking care of your dog may mean spending a lot, especially if they are ill. Before you start acquiring a pet, make sure that you can support all their needs. It is very important for you to be sure that you can handle responsibilities well, so that your pet’s life won’t be at risk. It’s really hard to take care and maintain a dog inside the house; you need to feed them regularly with dog food and not just any type of food. Sickly pet has a special diet, knowing that will help you save the life of your pet.
