Why Do Cats Knead?

Most of the people wonder why cats knead; there is a possible answer to this common question. Some cats are kneads naturally. They push and pool their paws in and out of surfaces. This is also accompanied by drooling. In some parts of the world behavior is commonly known as paddling and purring. This is also called as bread or bread making because it seems that they are just like preparing bread for baking. There are several theories that best explains this kind of behavior. These are some helpful information:

1. Because they are weaned too young.

2. It can also be because they were weaned too late.

3. They use the similar movements when they take milk out from their mom.

4. Mom cat also kneads to create a clean and smooth surface for her kittens.

5. It can be a happy behavior.

Cats may have different reasons for kneading but one thing is for sure, they are a happy cat. Sometimes, kneading reminds them of their childhood. This is accompanied by the process from their mother when making milk. Different kind of animals has different behaviors. They are just like humans. Their ways and attitudes differ from one another. People might not be able to understand the real reason behind the kneading behavior, as long as they are taken care of, they will remain to be happy.

You can train your cat to stop kneading; professional cat trainers can do it properly. But, experts say that kneading is a part of their life just like humans do whenever you go for stretching. You want your cat to stop kneading; you can seek for a trainer’s help. This way, you will also be relieved from worries.

Understanding your cat is very important. You need to have a constant communication with them to ensure that they are still happy living with you. Cats have different behavior and manners. If you want to understand them fully, you need to learn more from them. You can consult a cat trainer to help your cat knead from his paws. You can also ask his veterinarian about this.

Cat kneading behavior can also be a part of a sexual drive. But, what is very clear is that your pet needs affection from you. You should always remember that unhappy cat will not knead. He will not perform any pushing claw activity. You can clearly tell if your cat is healthy and happy. Taking care of your cat means exerting some emotions. You need to be emotionally inclined to them, so that you can clearly make them feel loved and wanted.
