Aging can definitely make your body weak. If you are a health conscious individual then, you must start now before it’s too late. If you reach the age of seniority, your metabolism and body parts loses their affectivity to function well. Proper nutrition accompanied with daily exercises is necessary to save you from future diseases as you age.

There are two things that would establish a person’s level of fitness. It is actually what you eat and what you do to the food you eat. Food serves as fuel for energy to be able to do the daily activities that you usually do every day. Once you take on the calories, you should burn it quickly, it’s necessary to actually be active by doing it in a right way. Age doesn’t matter, exercise and nutrients are vital if you want to get the most out of life. As you get older, the recommended vitamins, minerals, and daily exercises are just as essential as it is when you’re younger.

By focusing on these following areas, you can ensure a healthy and fruitful life:

1. Strength – It is a scientific term for degrading of muscles and strengths as you grow older. It is called sarcopenia. It is not an illness of just a particular individual, but it is a natural circumstance that will influence each and every one when they grow old. In fact, some researchers have shown that muscle mass decrease by 4% each decade. It actually starts at the age of 25 to age 50. It affects the overall mass, this decrease in muscle mass affects our metabolism, and can even change libido in men.

2. Endurance – As people age, the loss of energy capacity is a reality to face. Senior folks are more likely to experience existing pulmonary problems. The loss of lung capacity and stamina due to neglect nutritional condition and lack of physical activity can also happen.

3. Balance – Due to lack of proper balance, several seniors or older individual suffers from broken bones and accident every year. Prevention is the key to avoid this problem from reoccurring. There are many kinds of exercises like yoga, to Pilates, to simple balancing poses that can get you fit as well as keep you safe from accidents. Proper nutrition is an important as getting the right kind of exercise for your age.

For most seniors, a balanced meal is still the best method of giving your body what they need. Though, most of you find that lesser and lighter meals that are filled with vitamins are more important than the protein and carbohydrate heavy meals you need. In addition to good nutrition, most of you, especially those with pre-existing medical illnesses can benefit from adding nutritional food supplements to your daily diet.

Always remember to seek the advice of your doctor when making modifications in your diet or exercise routine. You need the right attitude to make a good start in working for a healthy lifestyle. What you are now will all pay later on so make the right move while you still can.
