Baby Sleep Training
By Jonathan Pitts | Babies | Rating:

During the early life of babies, they really have sleeping problems. They tend to stay awake at night for longer hours. Mothers are the most affected when it comes to sleep problems. Your baby might need a little help to make them quite and asleep at night. Baby sleep training is one of the most effective techniques in dealing with this problem. There are different methods to resolve sleeping problems among infants, some of them are the following:

1. Crying Down Method

This particular method of training is best when your baby is having mild sleep problem. When they experience difficulty in falling asleep because of tiredness, it can also be used. It can be used particularly when eating problems are resolve. This technique is done by leaving your baby to cry. It is a very difficult to do, especially to mothers who cannot stand their crying baby. You have to leave the baby cry until he falls asleep. This will help you prevent serious sleeps problem in the future.

2. The Core Night Method

This is done best for babies under 6 weeks and weighs more than 10lbs. It is the best time to do it if you’ve observed that your baby is still waking at night looking for food but feeds well during breakfast. The core night technique works when your baby is asleep for long hours during the night for several days. Observe your baby if he can stand long hours of sleep without giving him anything to feed. If this technique works you shouldn’t feed your baby during the night in order to prevent sleep problems. If the baby doesn’t settle in this kind of process, try giving him a dummy or a sip of water. Small feeding could be to the bay in order for him to get through until 7 am.

3. Controlled Crying Method

When other methods did not seem to be effective on your baby, you can simply use the controlled crying method. It will sleep train your baby for 6 months. This kind of technique can be a very successful way of getting your baby to sleep. But, it takes a lot of perseverance and commitment to be able to achieve this goal. Start on the very first day if you are using controlled method. It is a gradual training for your baby to get used to this kind of sleeping habit. Always have a regular time for sleep and put your baby into bed before he gets too sleepy. If the baby cries don’t get him right away give him time to get used to this kind of treatment.

A lot of baby can adjust to a day and night schedule on their own way for two to three weeks but some parents cannot wait that long. To shorten your baby’s adjustment period, do all the necessary procedure to prevent stimulation at night. Feed the baby well before sleep and make sure that he burped before putting him to sleep. Keep him up and dynamic during daytime. Do this for at least for 20 minutes after each meal by providing visual stimulation and changing positions.
