Garden for Humming Bird Habitat

A hummingbird feeds on plants and flowers just like bees. They are very much inclined in eating and in sipping the nectar of different kinds of flowers and plants. Nectar provides poor source of nutrients for hummingbirds, so they complete it by simply feeding on insects and other organisms for their regular amount of vitamins and minerals.

These types of birds are exceptional because they have the fastest metabolism among other birds while flying. Did you know that a hummingbird can also eat up tons of nectars than its usual weight? They can eat up hundreds of plants nectar each day to survive during the night. Night time is also the best time where they can lower down their metabolic rate. Apart from their exceptional talent, their lifespan is not that long; they can only live in less than a year.

During a fine day, it’s nice to watch over birds that are flying and feeding on different plants. You can easily capture this exquisite moment if you have a conducive and inviting place for birds. You can easily attract a hummingbird through artificial nectar; you can easily do it through the use of water and sugar. Having hummingbirds into your garden can provide a lively feature and invite more birds.

By simply having a hummingbird friendly garden, you will be able to invite more of them and enjoy watching them in your own yard. You can take pictures of them and make your own hummingbird haven without spending a lot of money. By simply improving and reorganizing your garden into a hummingbird haven, you can invite them to be with you. Hummers have a sharp memory, they can easily recognize you even if you are not in your yard, the next time they migrate; they will surely visit your place again.

Making a hummingbird garden inspired will not take much of your time; you will only need the following steps:

1. You need tubular flowers, they attract hummingbirds easily. Perennial flowers such as petunia and garland are the best to invite hummingbirds. By selecting the right type of flowers, you can invite other birds also that can provide pollens which will also contribute in inviting them.

2. Fountains and bird baths also invites insects and birds. Hummers love to play in sprinkles and other watery environment.

3. Willow and eucalyptus trees invites these hummers, they love to build nests in this trees. They sense protection through it.

4. You need to make homemade food for your hummers, flowers and plants may not be sufficient for them as they can eat as much as their weight. You can easily make foods for them and put it in your yard at least 10 feet apart from each other.

You can put colorful decorations of flowers and feeders since hummers are very much attracted into colorful flowers. You should always maintain clean and fresh feeders so that hummers won’t feed on strange debris. Don’t use any coloring or any other ingredient aside from water and sugar.
