It is also the practice of using plant or botanical oils for the overall well-being of a person. It is also a holistic treatment of taking care of the body by using natural herbs and essential oils for pain relief, calming effects for stress and nervous tensions and for relaxation purposes.
Aromatherapy which uses essential oils has health benefits to the physical, emotional and spiritual wellness of a person. These essential oils help induce relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety and promotes overall good health for the person. These essential oils are also used for skin care as these can keep skin moisturized, young-looking and healthy. These oils can also be used as part of cleaning materials as they can be included to clean the laundry and other household stuff. They have good antiseptic properties to keep away bacteria in the environment. Some oils are used as insect repellents, air fresheners, and massage oils and for other medicinal purposes.

The use of aroma lamps which has a small cup inside to hold water; add a few drops of your favorite essential oils like lavender, lemon, eucalyptus and others. The use of atomizers requires no heat; these are similar to nebulizers or diffusers which disperse the smell of essential oils into the air. The use of scented candles is also used for a more romantic ambience. Then, there are the scented sachets which can be placed inside cabinets and drawers, placed on linens and other laundry or hanged on the wall to give the place a fresh clean smell of your favorite essential oils.
