By Jason Ladock | Pet Related | Unrated

Cats have proved to be a perfect match for every household which is why most people own them. As a matter of fact, this practice has been followed since ages. Inevitably, it’s not the next big thing to own a cat; however, taking care of your pet is not everybody’s cup of tea.

If you think you are a responsible car owner than you should be taking care of your cat. It’s not only moral to do so, but also human to do so. After all, any pet we own are responsible for several pleasurable memories in our life.

Below are some old age tips one needs to consider to call themselves a care taking and proud owner of the cat.

It’s often a common practice to serve leftover food items to our pets. Although one can do so to avoid food wastage, make sure that you do not feed your pet with food which is left out for more than one hour.

Cats are known to drink less water. One needs to make sure that they take up this task of serving their pets with adequate water supply. Include food items which has large amount of water in it so that they are able to quench their hunger as well a thirst at the same time.

Milk is said to be the cat’s best food item. Do not over feed your cat with milk as it can cause diarrhea.

Prefer serving them with homemade food, instead of canned food. Even if you consider canned food from outside, do not compromise on quality for the sake of saving some money. There is a possibility that your cat may get bedridden with the intake of poor quality of food.

Pet owners should ensure that the dishes used for serving the pets are clean. Also, do not keep your pet tied up in a place for a long time. The most common mistake most pet owners do is leave their pet alone in the house, and move out for a long duration. This can be very detrimental for their health. Carry your pet along with you or leave them with someone who knows how to take care of the cat whenever you plan to go out for a longer duration. Make sure that you do not leave your cat in some cruel hands. Seek cat lovers when it comes to leaving your cat while going outside.

Cats get older by the time they reach the age of 8 or 9. They want peaceful and quiet surrounding during this phase of their life. If you own an older pet, you may want to make sure that you do not have a loud environment near them.

Most importantly, do not take your pet’s health for granted. Take them to a vet for periodic visits, and seek treatment if there is any ailment. Older cats may require up to 4 visits in a year.

One should take care of their pets the moment it enters their house for the first time. Remember, the heath of your pet is an indication of your family’s health as well.
