How to Maintain French Manicured Acrylic Nails
By Jonathan Pitts | Nail Care | Unrated

Nail care is very important. It is still part of our basic beauty regimen. You have the choice of keeping your nails clean and look natural without any hint of nail polish. However, if you want a more stylish look to your nails, you can try to have French manicured acrylic nails. This look gives the nails some natural look with very pale pink base and white tips.

• Maintaining these nails depend on your kind of lifestyle. Manicure may last for about two weeks. There are ways to maintain your French manicured acrylic nails until you decide to have a change of a new nail look.

• Remember to buy good quality of acrylic nails for better maintenance. These are kinder to your own natural nails. Make sure you go to a well-trained nail specialist to do your acrylic nails. Try to follow the advice by buying the recommended products for nail care.

• If you have your nails manicured in a salon, make sure that your nails are thoroughly dried. You can use the nail dryer long enough to keep them dry.

• At home, you must also remember to brush under the nails at least twice a week to ensure cleanliness of the nails. Check if there is lifting underneath the nails; you can go back to your nail specialist to do any remake on your nails. For precautionary measures, always wash hands and nails with soap and water or clean the nails with some alcohol.

• Protect your nails by wearing latex gloves instead of rubber gloves. Latex is made of thinner material and the texture is just enough to protect your acrylic nails. Wear latex gloves in all activities that you use your hands such as washing dishes, doing the laundry and other household work.

• Remember to moisturize with hand lotion and cuticle cream to keep nails soft. This also keeps your hands and nails free from dryness. Add a fresh coat of top coat on the nails to keep polish fresh and clean. In case you break a nail, you can go back to the salon and have it fixed by the nail specialist.

• If the two weeks have passed or if you need a new look on your nails, have your acrylic nails removed by the nail specialist. Don’t attempt to break the acrylic nails since these can damage the natural nails underneath.

In case you want to remove your acrylic nails yourself, do so by using a nail soak. This is a nail care kit that you can buy at the salon or some health stores. The nail soaks are commonly made up of natural acetone. Rub your hands and nails with enough lotion as protection before soaking your nails into a bowl of nail soak. It would take about thirty minutes for soaking, and then the acrylic nails are easily removed. Just rinse your hands with soap and water then pat dry. Apply moisturizer to keep your hands looking soft and smooth. Then you are ready to have a new set of French acrylic nails in your favorite salon.
