This comprises the total 100% of your total body weight. Every system inside your body totally depends on water for their normal function. The best example is when the excretory system flushes toxins out of the body. Water also carries nutrients in all parts of the body. It also gives ample amount of moisture environment in the ear, throat, and nose.

The importance of water should be taken very seriously if you want to have a normal and active life. Every day, you lose water inside your body through urination, breathing, and perspiration. You have to replenish those lost water supply by drinking lots of fluid and foods that contains higher amount of water. There are several approaches to estimate the water needs of a healthy and normal individual. They are comprised of the following:
• A replacement approach has been formulated to estimate the average urine output of an individual per day. Your body loses about 1.5 liters of urine each day and the foods you eat usually contain 20% of your total body fluid. This means that if you consume 2 liters of water each day you will be able to replaced your lost fluid. This may be done along with your normal diet as well.
• Typically, it is recommended that 8 ounces of water should be taken by a normal individual each day. Another approach being conducted is the 8X8 rule. The rule is to drink 8 ounces of water a day together with a normal diet. Although this is not been supported by scientific evidences, a lot of people uses this method as a guide to their daily water intake.
• Dietary recommendations per individual are being promoted by the Institute of Medicine. They are advising the average men should consume 3 liters of water while women should drink 2.2 liter each day.
How Much Water Should You Drink?
You have to drink enough water even if you are not thirsty to be able to produce at least 1.5 liters fluid to add up in your body’s water content. If your urine output is slightly yellowish in color, you are probably taking an adequate amount of water.
