By Jonathan Pitts | Pet Related | Unrated

Creating a small pond inside your house is a very challenging but rewarding experience for fish loving individuals. It can add peace, relaxation, and cozy environment inside your home. Some apartments and condo type unit and you can create a little but beautiful aquarium by using some creative imagination.

• The very first thing to do is to locate the exact location where you want to place your aquarium. One of the best locations is on your wall. An indoor fish pond will look good in a forest or wall mural jungle as its background. Try not to place your pond in direct exposure to sunlight unless you want to grow some plants on the pond. Algae are easily produce when expose to sunlight.

• Choose the type and size of the pond that will suit your place. You can go to your local market and purchase some plastic pond of the style and size that you prefer. You can usually locate this plastic pond in the garden section of the market.

• Do some framing for the side of the pond. You make it yourself or you can ask help for someone who is capable of doing this work. Set the pond on the spot where you want it to be placed. Measure the woods length, width, and height. The size of the frame you will do may depend on the actual size of the pond. You can add a space of 6 inches around your ponds sides. The ponds size can be more than 6 inches if you wish, it depends on what accessories that you will put on the side of the pond. Purchase enough plywood for the side and buy some colored rocks if you want to cover the plywood to add some designs.

• Create the frame and cover it with plywood in each side. Put it over the pond on the spot where you want it to be placed.

• After assembling the frame you can put some added decorations on the frame side. You can add some brick or pieces of rock on each side. It will depend on the theme you want to create for your aquarium. After decorating, wipe unnecessary dirt around the pond and let it stand for about 24 hours to make sure that all fumes is gone.

• You can add pond filter and pump inside the pond. Place artificial plastic plants for your aquarium and use some sand to prevent the plants from floating. You can also add some plants outside your aquarium. Choose form live and artificial plants depending on your preference.

• Add fresh water on your indoor fish pond. Let the water filter runs for a week and you can change the water as it evaporates. Look for beautiful colored fishes at your local pet shop. You can purchase gold fish or Koi fish but avoid mixing gold fish and Koi fish. The goldfish may starve because Koi fishes grow larger than gold fish. Use a special formula to prevent fish waste on polluting their environment. The formula being used in 1 inch of fish is equivalent to 1 gallon of water. Always feed your fish once a day by fish flakes.
