How to Make a Salt Scrub for Glowing Skin

The summer heat may be very harsh on your skin. You have to exfoliate your skin to look good during summer. One of the best and easiest ways to exfoliate your skin for a smoother skin is to use a salt scrub. You can reward yourself with a nice spa even at home by using salt scrub. You can produce a nice salt scrub at home by using things around the house. This homemade scrub can give a more smooth and glowing skin.

1. First is to gather all the necessary ingredients for your salt scrub. You will need 1 cup cornmeal, 1 cup sea salt, 1 cup olive oil, and ½ cup lemon juice you can also use fragrance oil if you want for added smell.

2. Aside from olive oil you can also choose other carrier oil for your salt scrub. Make sure that the carrier oil is in cold press condition. There is a wide variety of oils that you can choose like sunflower, avocado, jojoba, and macadamia oil. It depends on your own preference and your budget. Some oils are a little expensive than the others.

3. Next is to decide on the scent that you want for the scrub. Special scent will help you relax during the sap session. Some of the carrier oil already has a mild scent. You can mix different scent of oils to create a new scent or you can choose a single scent for your scrub. You can also consider using vanilla extract or orange zest smell. You can add perfume base scent such as cucumber, chocolate and mango.

4. Once you have decoded on the scent all you have to do is to mix all the ingredients together. Prepare a wide mounted jar or other container as long as you reach your hand inside and can be sealed after. Be careful on adding essential oils; make sure that you add little by little because some oils have strong smell.

5. Go in front of your tub or shower and put the salt scrub on your skin. Rub the salt scrub against your skin in a circular motion. Make sure to rub all body parts that need special attention. Pay some extra attention on knees, elbows, and neck. Consider the driest area of the body.

6. Once you are finish in scrubbing the entire body with the salt scrub you can turn on the water or the shower to rinse all the salt in your body. Your skin will surely glow after doing this.

7. The salt scrub will last for a month if you will put it in an air-tight bottle or container and store it in a refrigerator. When using the salt scrub again, put it out of the refrigerator and let it down in room temperature before applying on your body.

You can always achieve a nice looking skin without spending much on high cost treatment spa. You can use your creativity and imagination to produce a nice salt scrub.
