Vaginitis is referred to as the inflammation of the vagina. There is an infection in the vagina causing itching, discomfort and sometimes pain due to bacterial and yeast infections. There are medications available to treat vaginitis and one of them is thru homeopathic remedies.
You can start with a healthy diet that would prevent infection. Eat sugar-free diets. Eat less fruits. Eat diets with more acidophilus bacterium because this is effective against infection. These are available in health stores. Try to eat plain yogurt often. Eat steamed green leafy vegetables or mix them up as a salad. There must be soups included in your diet like Japanese Miso soup, chicken soup and vegetable soups or broths. Try to eat one or two gloves of garlic daily as part of your treatment.
Avoid eating red meat if you are under treatment of vaginitis. Drink plenty of unsweetened cranberry juice to help enhance fluids to the vaginal area.
Make your own Anti-Yeast Tea by combining 2 parts sage, 2 parts mullein, 2 parts raspberry leaf and ¼ part of goldenseal root. Place about 4-6 tbsp of this herb mixture per quart of water and simmer in low heat in a covered pot. Let it stand for about twenty minutes and then strain. You can drink this herbal tea with some cranberry juice to lessen its bitter taste. Drink one cup daily about thirty minutes before each meal.
You can also make your own douche by mixing ½ ounce of Anti-Yeast Tea, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp acidophilus culture, if unavailable use ¼ cup of yogurt and 1 drop of Tea Tree Oil. Heat the Anti-Yeast Tea in one quart of water for about half an hour, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Strain and let the mixture cool down a bit. The mixture should be warm enough to be placed in a douche bag. Then, use this douche to gently rub the vaginal area.
Aloe Vera is effective against infections. Make enough juice and apply directly to the vaginal area or you can make a douche. This reduces itching of the vagina.
You can also make use of cabbage leaves by placing some leaves on a maxi pad napkin on the underwear. This helps give quick relief from itchiness and inflammation.
There are herbal vaginal suppositories which you can buy from the pharmacy or health stores which you may use such as Goldenseal, garlic, Calendula and Tea Tree Oil. These suppositories are effective against yeast infections. You can also apply a good amount of Tea Tree Oil cream and vitamin E cream to reduce itchiness. The vitamin E capsule can be cut open and then you can apply its oil directly to the vagina to reduce itchiness and inflammation.
There are other homeopathic remedies such as taking in 30C potency each of Natrum Muriaticum, Sepia and Sulphur. These are also effective against vaginitis especially during humid and hot weather conditions. As always it is also good to consult with your doctor for more medical advice to treat vaginitis properly and effectively.
