By Jonathan Pitts | Beauty | Unrated

Holidays are always happy occasions to gather family and friends. You need to make great preparations to make your holidays as happy as they can be and you need to take the time to make sure that everything else is in proper order. You must also make the time to prepare yourself for the holidays. Below are some beauty tips to keep you looking good during the holidays.

One good beauty tip is to get pampered at the salon. Ask your stylist to give you a new hair style that would look good on you. You can also have hair color and other hair treatments that would make your hair look shiny and healthy. Have your nails trimmed and polished with bright colors of red, gold or something shimmery to match the holiday moods. A French manicure is always a good choice for your nails.

Try to practice putting make-up on your face. You can try on new make-up and different colors to flatter your eyes and lips. Try to put on mineral make-up for the flawless look on your face. Use crème or gold colored eye shadows to create a dramatic effect to your eyes. You can also try different colors like purple, plum and jewel-toned colors as eye make-up and nail colors. You should also match your lipstick with the holiday feeling. Apply matte lipstick rich in pink, berry and peach colors. Don’t forget to put a slight blush to your cheeks. Choose soft pinkish and peach colors for your cheeks for the pretty innocent look.

Since the holidays are cold don’t forget to take care of your skin. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub for your skin to remove dry and dead skin cells. Try to moisturize your skin as often as you can. Look for water-based moisturizers if you have normal skin and an oil-based moisturizer if you have dry skin. Try to protect your face by using sun block good enough to protect it from the sun’s heat.

Try to lose some weight before the holidays. Your new slim look would flatter your new make-up and hairstyle. Try to do regular exercise and try not to binge on food. Try to maintain your weight as much as possible before and during the holidays so that you would be perfectly fit the whole time.

You know you have a lot of eating to do during the holidays. It is best to prepare yourself and plan how you are going to maintain your weight but still enjoying the holidays at the same time. You can try eating small portions of food. You can skip the cakes and sweet pastries and eat fresh fruits instead. Eat more fresh salads with light dressing, eat more chicken or fish rather than beef and pork. Remember to drink plenty of water before eating to help you feel fuller. No matter how busy you are try to make time to do some work out to tone down your body and exercise away the extra calories on you.

Best of all, enjoy your holidays; you deserve it because you really to your time to prepare for it. Enjoy!
