Christmas seasons will never be complete without Christmas lights. Thanks to the creativity of some, it seems like they always come up with new tricks and designs each year.
The promise that Christmas brings are the Lights for Hope. Well it sounds like having a perfect Christmas decorations.
But have you ever been in the situation wherein you exhausted all your efforts to put all the lights in its most perfect location, not to mention the cuts you inflicted while doing the arrangement, and only to find out that there are a number of lights in the series that are not working or blinking. Find a word for that it is called frustrating.
Before you lost your temper and curse the makers of Christmas lights. Here are some lessons to learn before you set up Christmas decorations at your own home:
1. Buy the original and look for the safety seal. The seal ensures quality. Be wary on buying Christmas lights. Safety should be the utmost concern of every household, because one of the major causes of burns in December is Christmas lights.
2. Keep in mind that inexpensive lights are always and often not durable. And always remember that holiday light bulbs have short life expectancies, about 1000 to 1500 hours.
3. Before you climb up to the highest ceiling of your house to decorate, you must check first before putting them up. It will be less frustrating to be able to detect missing lights while you are still holding the lights than tracing them around the Christmas tree or windows. It is less irritating.
4. Few missing bulbs will go unnoticed, when being decorated in the Christmas tree or in the window, but if you think that many bulbs are missing, it will surely cause an eyesore at night time, so better find replacement for missing bulbs. Extra bulbs are sometimes included in the package.
5. When you are some kind of obsessive compulsive and you want that everything is perfect. A single missing bulb annoys you. Thus, you need to change one. When replacing a single bulb, first locate and mark the bulb. Gently pulled around the broken light to loosen and replace with a new bulb.
6. If your budget allows it, it is also advisable to purchase a light keeper. A light keeper is a tool that will able to diagnose quickly broken lights. It will let you know if current is flowing to the bulb without even having to remove it.
7. Lastly, think wisely of the costs you will be spending in fixing your Christmas lights. If buying new set of Christmas lights is more sensible than fixing it, then do so. After all safety should never be compromise.
Enjoy Christmas season, decorate your home with many lights as you can afford. Christmas lights are symbol of happiness and festivity. Do not be upset by just one broken holiday light bulb. There is always a remedy for almost anything.
