As the population in the United States continues to age, it stands to reason, that many of your potential business partners will come form this age group. Some may say that they're too old and over the hill. Others are very proud and deny needing any help whatsoever.
You need to be supportive of those who are over 50 and even much older. Sure, they may not be as lively as they once were. However, that does not mean they must be confined to the front porch for the rest of their days.
Some may have taken early retirement from work and started getting their Social Security checks at 62 years of age. Now they realize that with a lower monthly amount for the checks, they could use a few extra coins merely to keep up with the cost of living. The water, electric and telephone bills all keep going higher.
Who can predict the vagaries of the markets with respect to trends in stocks, bonds, commodities and precious metals? Is this the time to buy or sell? Besides the additional income being helpful, there is another dimension to the aging process that needs to factor into the equation. Being able to interact with others as they introduce the home business will help them to be mentally alert without overwhelming them.
Again, emphasize to them what many of the older generation have over some who may be several years younger. Here are a few examples:
Persist in encouraging your older prospects to do the business or just use the products or services. Select for them products or services they can start using immediately and experience the benefits from them.
If they reject your invitation to be your business partner, ask them to be your customer. With the massive growth that undoubtedly will continue for many years to come, will also come an expanding marketing opportunity.
If you have been to a doctor's office lately, you may have seen elderly persons there. Of course, some may be using a cane and favoring one side or the other as they walk. Others may be shuffling along as they use their walker for support to prevent their falling and fracturing a hip. Others may be in a wheelchair and mildly confused. They may think it is Wednesday when, in fact, it is Monday. They may have forgotten the name of the nursing home where they live. They may even have no recollection of the name of the driver who drove them to the doctor's office.
As you probably know, many products and services already exist to assist them as they age. Many more are on the horizon. For example, antiaging products, battery operated scooters, home care assistance services, enrichment activities and fitness programs are just a few to consider.
