There are 5 important rules to adhere to when cleansing at home.
Colon cleansing is a procedure that removes built up debris and waste from the colon. Years of built up debris and toxins can cause serious health issues.
Many doctors agree that cleansing the colon to remove built up toxins can have healthy benefits and can even prevent future disease.
The cleansing products available for at-home colon cleansing are typically very gentle and are safe to use. Most use some type of herbal ingredients that help to safely remove toxins from the colon.
Always try to implement the following 5 rules to safe colon cleansing at home:
1) Drink plenty of water - The cleansing process can sometimes make you feel dehydrated. It is important to keep up your intake of fluids, particularly water. This will ensure that you don't get headaches or become parched. Drinking plenty of fluids also helps the body to more easily flush toxins from the system.
2) Don't overeat - Eating too much can cause bloating and will make the colon work harder to remove the waste. While in the process of colon cleansing eat small meals. Eat broths and soups that can help to replenish electrolytes lost in the process. Drinking an electrolyte replacement beverage can also be helpful.
3) Take a vitamin or nutrient supplement - Cleansing the colon can temporarily inhibit the absorption of necessary nutrients into the system. Be sure to replace these by taking a daily supplement. Choose one that includes vitamin C, which will help keep the immune system strong. Some products are made specifically for use when colon cleansing and may provide a more balanced group of supplements to support what is lost in cleansing.
4) Take probiotics when colon cleansing - These can help the system by replacing the needed good bacteria that may have been washed away in the cleansing process. Your body will make new good bacteria but in the mean time try taking a supplement. Some probiotics use human strains of bacteria that some people feel provide a good basis when doing colon cleansing.
5) Try a detox bath - This can help you to further remove toxins as they are trying to escape the body. A detox bath is simply a bath that helps you to remove toxins through the skin. It is typically done using herbs and hot water followed by a period of wrapping yourself in a blanket to promote sweating. Avoid a detox bath, however, if you are already feeling in a weakened state.
