For those sincerely aiming for weight loss and leading a healthy life, here is a reckoner with some helpful, easy to follow diet tips:

1. Make low fat yogurt a part of your diet - make it tasty by adding light mayo and maybe some mustard to make a delicious mini meal.

2. Going on crash diets, skipping meals and starving oneself actually lead to gaining more weight since the body starts thinking there is an emergency and starts accumulating more fats.

3. Go for more vegetables, fruits and other fibrous stuff - use stuffed capsicum, minced chicken to crave your hunger pangs in a delicious yet healthy way.

4. If simple salad is too boring, stuff it in a whole grain bread roll.

5. Just about a half hour of working out regularly helps in increased metabolism and fat burning capability of the body, especially before dinner or lunch.

6. Use ingredients like alfalfa seeds to enhance the taste as well as nutrients in salad recipe.

7. Google all the healthy ways of making healthy, nutrition laden, low fat food for an effective weight loss diet plan.

8. This would also ensure substituting fatty food items with lesser known yet highly healthy and effective food items - like yoghurt can substitute cream, sugar can be cut out with sugar free substitutes and grill instead of deep frying.

17. If possible, join a weight watchers club or forum or start one in the neighborhood - for more motivation and encouragement and better results.

18. Always eat at least 3 hours before bedtime, especially at night.

19. Go for meals which include food items like - pasta and salad instead of heavy calorie laden gravy items or white meat.

20. Having more chillin means increased metabolic rate.

21. Egg has most fat amount stored in the yolk - skip it.

22. Try not to use sauces like - soya sauce while cooking. Keep the meals simple and easy to cook and eat.

23. When using a baking tray, try removing the fat stored by putting ice in the tray.

24. Warm or hot water means more calories are burnt as the metabolism is increased many-fold with high temperature of water, especially in mornings.

25. Do not go unprepared in a supermarket for the grocery shopping. Have a list of what to buy and only stick to that list.

The key to maintaining a healthy diet is to keep yourself disciplined. Without it, you will never be able to stick to your plan and achieve your goals. If you can stay dedicated, you will see many gains from your hard work down the road.
