Reiki is highly useful when trying to overcome infertility and have a better pregnancy. Couples who are experiencing problems having children can definitely turn to Reiki. In one of the many cases, it amazingly helped a Reiki student who had been going through various treatments for her infertility, which failed to help her. However, with the effective healing energy powers of Reiki, the imbalance in her reproductive and pelvic area was restored. The student who had almost given up trying to get pregnant felt a sensation in her abdomen during one of her Reiki classes. In about 5 weeks, she got pregnant and delivered a healthy baby without any complications on her due date.

Reiki is not only helpful for infertility problems but also for pregnant women. It's often noted that Reiki students (or receivers) who are in last stages of their pregnancy would feel this strong energy flowing around their belly, with the baby being affected positively. This clearly shows that mothers to be who are having their Reiki sessions or are under Reiki treatment therapy are helping their baby along with themselves. A Reiki session of any type leaves a positive affect on your baby and makes him/her feel content, relaxed and happy inside. As the child is born and grows up, he or she will be able to respond better to a Reiki treatment despite of the illnesses that usually come up in childhood, which obviously helps the parents achieve a peace of mind.

Reiki can prove to be really helpful for women when nursing and taking good care of their babies. Reiki workshops and sessions usually make the baby easy going, as he/she wouldn't cry a lot, particularly during the nighttime. Whenever the baby feels a little edgy or unwell, the Reiki practicing mother can use the art to calm him/her down.

However, still there are many beliefs that say that women should not practice Reiki in their late stages of pregnancy. Even though it is said that Reiki can possibly cause premature labor to the carrying mother, the craft really doesn't cause any type of harm at all. However, pregnant women do have a choice to put a stop to the Reiki treatment when going through the last few months of pregnancy. But still, since Reiki has a record of being beneficial to both the mother and the baby, they don't really have to stop it.

As far as the attunement process of the expecting mother is concerned, it is believed by some Reiki masters that the procedure reaches the baby, which means that even he/she becomes a real Reiki practitioner along with the mother. However, there is another sect of masters that believes that the baby growing inside the womb is not involved in the entire procedure in any way. Whatever be the case, one thing is sure, the baby benefits immensely throughout the whole period of exercise, because he/she gets all positivity that comes along with the attunement. The chances are high that these babies would be very much different from the other children who didn't get the benefit of experiencing Reiki.
